Type designer Hannes von Döhren has the lofty aim of banishing the wilfully misused Comic Sans in order to “make the world a little bit better”. Regardless of your stance on the total elimination of Microsoft’s much derided typeface, HVD provide a perfect font for comic strips, Flash games and pretty much anything that needs a bit of fun injected into it.

iStock was something of a pioneer; it was one of the first sites to start selling Flash files. However, it is and always will be, a photography marketplace first. Flash is a something of an afterthought here. That said, any site that can sell an image every 1.4 seconds should not be overlooked when it comes to any other digital downloads.

After nearly a year of development and close communication with the Flash Player team, the latest version of SWFObject is now available for download. More robust and well thought out then ever, the 2.2 milestone cements SWFObject’s place as the only embed method you should be using.

Unfortunately it seems Adobe has still not got the message. While officially giving SWFObject a seal of approval, contrary to early reports its not a option in the publish settings of Flash CS4.
